Ta, Seen, Meem

|||
1

تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ

Tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeeni

WORD BY WORD
تِلۡكَtil'kaThese
ءَايَٰتُāyātu(are the) Verses
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِl-kitābi(of) the Book
ٱلۡمُبِينِl-mubīnithe clear
TRANSLATION

These are the verses of the clear Book

|||
2

نَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكَ مِن نَّبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ

Natloo AAalayka min nabai moosa wafirAAawna bialhaqqi liqawmin yuminoona

نَتۡلُواْnatlūWe recite
عَلَيۡكَʿalaykato you
مِنminfrom
نَّبَإِnaba-i(the) news
مُوسَىٰmūsā(of) Musa
وَفِرۡعَوۡنَwafir'ʿawnaand Firaun
بِٱلۡحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truth
لِقَوۡمٖliqawminfor a people
يُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
TRANSLATION

We recite to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for a people who believe

|||
3

إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ عَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهۡلَهَا شِيَعٗا يَسۡتَضۡعِفُ طَآئِفَةٗ مِّنۡهُمۡ يُذَبِّحُ أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيِۦ نِسَآءَهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ

Inna firAAawna AAala fee alardi wajaAAala ahlaha shiyaAAan yastadAAifu taifatan minhum yuthabbihu abnaahum wayastahyee nisaahum innahu kana mina almufsideena

فِرۡعَوۡنَfir'ʿawnaFiraun
عَلَاʿalāexalted himself
فِيin
ٱلۡأَرۡضِl-arḍithe land
وَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand made
أَهۡلَهَاahlahāits people
شِيَعٗاshiyaʿan(into) sects
يَسۡتَضۡعِفُyastaḍʿifuoppressing
طَآئِفَةٗṭāifatana group
مِّنۡهُمۡmin'humamong them
يُذَبِّحُyudhabbiḥuslaughtering
أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡabnāahumtheir sons
وَيَسۡتَحۡيِۦwayastaḥyīand letting live
نِسَآءَهُمۡۚnisāahumtheir women
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, he
كَانَkānawas
مِنَminaof
ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَl-muf'sidīnathe corrupters
TRANSLATION

Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters

|||
4

وَنُرِيدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ أَئِمَّةٗ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ

Wanureedu an namunna AAala allatheena istudAAifoo fee alardi wanajAAalahum aimmatan wanajAAalahumu alwaritheena

WORD BY WORD
وَنُرِيدُwanurīduAnd We wanted
أَنanto
نَّمُنَّnamunnabestow a favor
عَلَىʿalāupon
ٱلَّذِينَalladhīnathose who
ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْus'tuḍ'ʿifūwere oppressed
فِيin
ٱلۡأَرۡضِl-arḍithe land
وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡwanajʿalahumand make them
أَئِمَّةٗa-immatanleaders
وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُwanajʿalahumuand make them
ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَl-wārithīnathe inheritors
TRANSLATION

And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors

|||
5

وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنُرِيَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَحۡذَرُونَ

Wanumakkina lahum fee alardi wanuriya firAAawna wahamana wajunoodahuma minhum ma kanoo yahtharoona

وَنُمَكِّنَwanumakkinaAnd [We] establish
لَهُمۡlahumthem
فِيin
ٱلۡأَرۡضِl-arḍithe land
وَنُرِيَwanuriyaand show
فِرۡعَوۡنَfir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَهَٰمَٰنَwahāmānaand Haman
وَجُنُودَهُمَاwajunūdahumāand their hosts
مِنۡهُمmin'humthrough them
مَّاwhat
كَانُواْkānūthey were
يَحۡذَرُونَyaḥdharūnafearing
TRANSLATION

And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Haman and their soldiers through them that which they had feared

|||
6

وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَرۡضِعِيهِۖ فَإِذَا خِفۡتِ عَلَيۡهِ فَأَلۡقِيهِ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحۡزَنِيٓۖ إِنَّا رَآدُّوهُ إِلَيۡكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

Waawhayna ila ommi moosa an ardiAAeehi faitha khifti AAalayhi faalqeehi fee alyammi wala takhafee wala tahzanee inna raddoohu ilayki wajaAAiloohu mina almursaleena

وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآwa-awḥaynāAnd We inspired
إِلَىٰٓilā[to]
أُمِّummi(the) mother
مُوسَىٰٓmūsā(of) Musa
أَنۡanthat
أَرۡضِعِيهِۖarḍiʿīhiSuckle him
فَإِذَاfa-idhābut when
خِفۡتِkhif'tiyou fear
عَلَيۡهِʿalayhifor him
فَأَلۡقِيهِfa-alqīhithen cast him
فِيin(to)
ٱلۡيَمِّl-yamithe river
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَخَافِيtakhāfīfear
وَلَاwalāand (do) not
تَحۡزَنِيٓۖtaḥzanīgrieve
إِنَّاinnāIndeed, We
رَآدُّوهُrāddūhu(will) restore him
إِلَيۡكِilaykito you
وَجَاعِلُوهُwajāʿilūhuand (will) make him
مِنَminaof
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
TRANSLATION

And We inspired to the mother of Moses, "Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers

|||
7

فَٱلۡتَقَطَهُۥٓ ءَالُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمۡ عَدُوّٗا وَحَزَنًاۗ إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُواْ خَٰطِـِٔينَ

Failtaqatahu alu firAAawna liyakoona lahum AAaduwwan wahazanan inna firAAawna wahamana wajunoodahuma kanoo khatieena

فَٱلۡتَقَطَهُۥٓfal-taqaṭahuThen picked him up
ءَالُālu(the) family
فِرۡعَوۡنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaun
لِيَكُونَliyakūnaso that he might become
لَهُمۡlahumto them
عَدُوّٗاʿaduwwanan enemy
وَحَزَنًاۗwaḥazananand a grief
إِنَّinnaIndeed
فِرۡعَوۡنَfir'ʿawnaFiraun
وَهَٰمَٰنَwahāmānaand Haman
وَجُنُودَهُمَاwajunūdahumāand their hosts
كَانُواْkānūwere
خَٰطِـِٔينَkhāṭiīnasinners
TRANSLATION

And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their soldiers were deliberate sinners

|||
8

وَقَالَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ قُرَّتُ عَيۡنٖ لِّي وَلَكَۖ لَا تَقۡتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدٗا وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

Waqalati imraatu firAAawna qurratu AAaynin lee walaka la taqtuloohu AAasa an yanfaAAana aw nattakhithahu waladan wahum la yashAAuroona

وَقَالَتِwaqālatiAnd said
ٱمۡرَأَتُim'ra-atu(the) wife
فِرۡعَوۡنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaun
قُرَّتُqurratuA comfort
عَيۡنٖʿaynin(of the) eye
لِّيfor me
وَلَكَۖwalakaand for you
لَا(Do) not
تَقۡتُلُوهُtaqtulūhukill him
عَسَىٰٓʿasāperhaps
أَنan(that)
يَنفَعَنَآyanfaʿanāhe may benefit us
أَوۡawor
نَتَّخِذَهُۥnattakhidhahuwe may take him
وَلَدٗاwaladan(as) a son
وَهُمۡwahumAnd they
لَا(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَyashʿurūnaperceive
TRANSLATION

And the wife of Pharaoh said, "[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not

|||
9

وَأَصۡبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَٰرِغًاۖ إِن كَادَتۡ لَتُبۡدِي بِهِۦ لَوۡلَآ أَن رَّبَطۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

Waasbaha fuadu ommi moosa farighan in kadat latubdee bihi lawla an rabatna AAala qalbiha litakoona mina almumineena

وَأَصۡبَحَwa-aṣbaḥaAnd became
فُؤَادُfuādu(the) heart
أُمِّummi(of the) mother
مُوسَىٰmūsā(of) Musa
فَٰرِغًاۖfārighanempty
إِنinThat
كَادَتۡkādatshe was near
لَتُبۡدِيlatub'dī(to) disclosing
بِهِۦbihiabout him
لَوۡلَآlawlāif not
أَنanthat
رَّبَطۡنَاrabaṭnāWe strengthened
عَلَىٰʿalā[over]
قَلۡبِهَاqalbihāher heart
لِتَكُونَlitakūnaso that she would be
مِنَminaof
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
TRANSLATION

And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers

|||
10

وَقَالَتۡ لِأُخۡتِهِۦ قُصِّيهِۖ فَبَصُرَتۡ بِهِۦ عَن جُنُبٖ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

Waqalat liokhtihi qusseehi fabasurat bihi AAan junubin wahum la yashAAuroona

WORD BY WORD
وَقَالَتۡwaqālatAnd she said
لِأُخۡتِهِۦli-ukh'tihito his sister
قُصِّيهِۖquṣṣīhiFollow him
فَبَصُرَتۡfabaṣuratSo she watched
بِهِۦbihihim
عَنʿanfrom
جُنُبٖjunubina distance
وَهُمۡwahumwhile they
لَا(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَyashʿurūnaperceive
TRANSLATION

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not

|||
11

۞وَحَرَّمۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَقَالَتۡ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِ بَيۡتٖ يَكۡفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُۥ نَٰصِحُونَ

Waharramna AAalayhi almaradiAAa min qablu faqalat hal adullukum AAala ahli baytin yakfuloonahu lakum wahum lahu nasihoona

WORD BY WORD
۞وَحَرَّمۡنَاwaḥarramnāAnd We had forbidden
عَلَيۡهِʿalayhifor him
ٱلۡمَرَاضِعَl-marāḍiʿathe wet nurses
مِنminbefore
قَبۡلُqablubefore
فَقَالَتۡfaqālatso she said
هَلۡhalShall I
أَدُلُّكُمۡadullukumdirect you
عَلَىٰٓʿalāto
أَهۡلِahli(the) people
بَيۡتٖbaytin(of) a house
يَكۡفُلُونَهُۥyakfulūnahuwho will rear him
لَكُمۡlakumfor you
وَهُمۡwahumwhile they
لَهُۥlahuto him
نَٰصِحُونَnāṣiḥūna(will be) sincere
TRANSLATION

And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before, so she said, "Shall I direct you to a household that will be responsible for him for you while they are to him [for his upbringing] sincere

|||
12

فَرَدَدۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰٓ أُمِّهِۦ كَيۡ تَقَرَّ عَيۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَ وَلِتَعۡلَمَ أَنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

Faradadnahu ila ommihi kay taqarra AAaynuha wala tahzana walitaAAlama anna waAAda Allahi haqqun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona

فَرَدَدۡنَٰهُfaradadnāhuSo We restored him
إِلَىٰٓilāto
أُمِّهِۦummihihis mother
كَيۡkaythat
تَقَرَّtaqarramight be comforted
عَيۡنُهَاʿaynuhāher eye
وَلَاwalāand not
تَحۡزَنَtaḥzanashe may grieve
وَلِتَعۡلَمَwalitaʿlamaand that she would know
أَنَّannathat
وَعۡدَwaʿdathe Promise of Allah
ٱللَّهِl-lahithe Promise of Allah
حَقّٞḥaqqun(is) true
وَلَٰكِنَّwalākinnaBut
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡaktharahummost of them
لَا(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
TRANSLATION

So We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of the people do not know

|||
13

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

Walamma balagha ashuddahu waistawa ataynahu hukman waAAilman wakathalika najzee almuhsineena

WORD BY WORD
وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd when
بَلَغَbalaghahe reached
أَشُدَّهُۥashuddahuhis full strength
وَٱسۡتَوَىٰٓwa-is'tawāand became mature
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُātaynāhuWe bestowed upon him
حُكۡمٗاḥuk'manwisdom
وَعِلۡمٗاۚwaʿil'manand knowledge
وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thus
نَجۡزِيnajzīWe reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَl-muḥ'sinīnathe good-doers
TRANSLATION

And when he attained his full strength and was [mentally] mature, We bestowed upon him judgement and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good

|||
14

وَدَخَلَ ٱلۡمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيۡنِ يَقۡتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِي مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِي مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيۡهِۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوّٞ مُّضِلّٞ مُّبِينٞ

Wadakhala almadeenata AAala heeni ghaflatin min ahliha fawajada feeha rajulayni yaqtatilani hatha min sheeAAatihi wahatha min AAaduwwihi faistaghathahu allathee min sheeAAatihi AAala allathee min AAaduwwihi fawakazahu moosa faqada AAalayhi qala hatha min AAamali alshshaytani innahu AAaduwwun mudillun mubeenun

وَدَخَلَwadakhalaAnd he entered
ٱلۡمَدِينَةَl-madīnatathe city
عَلَىٰʿalāat
حِينِḥīnia time
غَفۡلَةٖghaflatin(of) inattention
مِّنۡminof
أَهۡلِهَاahlihāits people
فَوَجَدَfawajadaand found
فِيهَاfīhātherein
رَجُلَيۡنِrajulaynitwo men
يَقۡتَتِلَانِyaqtatilānifighting each other
هَٰذَاhādhāthis
مِنminof
شِيعَتِهِۦshīʿatihihis party
وَهَٰذَاwahādhāand this
مِنۡminof
عَدُوِّهِۦۖʿaduwwihihis enemy
فَٱسۡتَغَٰثَهُfa-is'taghāthahuAnd called him for help
ٱلَّذِيalladhīthe one who
مِنmin(was) from
شِيعَتِهِۦshīʿatihihis party
عَلَىʿalāagainst
ٱلَّذِيalladhīthe one who
مِنۡmin(was) from
عَدُوِّهِۦʿaduwwihihis enemy
فَوَكَزَهُۥfawakazahuso Musa struck him with his fist
مُوسَىٰmūsāso Musa struck him with his fist
فَقَضَىٰfaqaḍāand killed him
عَلَيۡهِۖʿalayhiand killed him
قَالَqālaHe said
هَٰذَاhādhāThis (is)
مِنۡminof
عَمَلِʿamali(the) deed
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖl-shayṭāni(of) Shaitaan
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed, he
عَدُوّٞʿaduwwun(is) an enemy
مُّضِلّٞmuḍillunone who misleads
مُّبِينٞmubīnunclearly
TRANSLATION

And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy

15

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِي فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

Qala rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee faighfir lee faghafara lahu innahu huwa alghafooru alrraheemu

WORD BY WORD
قَالَqālaHe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
إِنِّيinnīIndeed, I
ظَلَمۡتُẓalamtu[I] have wronged
نَفۡسِيnafsīmy soul
فَٱغۡفِرۡfa-igh'firso forgive
لِي[for] me
فَغَفَرَfaghafaraThen He forgave
لَهُۥٓۚlahu[for] him
إِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed He
هُوَhuwaHe (is)
ٱلۡغَفُورُl-ghafūruthe Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
TRANSLATION

He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful

|||
16

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنۡ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرٗا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

Qala rabbi bima anAAamta AAalayya falan akoona thaheeran lilmujrimeena

WORD BY WORD
قَالَqālaHe said
رَبِّrabbiMy Lord
بِمَآbimāBecause
أَنۡعَمۡتَanʿamtaYou have favored
عَلَيَّʿalayya[on] me
فَلَنۡfalanso not
أَكُونَakūnaI will be
ظَهِيرٗاẓahīrana supporter
لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِينَlil'muj'rimīna(of) the criminals
TRANSLATION

He said, "My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals

|||
17

فَأَصۡبَحَ فِي ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ خَآئِفٗا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِي ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ يَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِيّٞ مُّبِينٞ

Faasbaha fee almadeenati khaifan yataraqqabu faitha allathee istansarahu bialamsi yastasrikhuhu qala lahu moosa innaka laghawiyyun mubeenun

فَأَصۡبَحَfa-aṣbaḥaIn the morning he was
فِيin
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِl-madīnatithe city
خَآئِفٗاkhāifanfearful
يَتَرَقَّبُyataraqqabu(and) was vigilant
فَإِذَاfa-idhāwhen behold
ٱلَّذِيalladhīThe one who
ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥis'tanṣarahusought his help
بِٱلۡأَمۡسِbil-amsithe previous day
يَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚyastaṣrikhuhucried out to him for help
قَالَqālaSaid
لَهُۥlahuto him
مُوسَىٰٓmūsāMusa
إِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, you
لَغَوِيّٞlaghawiyyun(are) surely a deviator
مُّبِينٞmubīnunclear
TRANSLATION

And he became inside the city fearful and anticipating [exposure], when suddenly the one who sought his help the previous day cried out to him [once again]. Moses said to him, "Indeed, you are an evident, [persistent] deviator

|||
18

فَلَمَّآ أَنۡ أَرَادَ أَن يَبۡطِشَ بِٱلَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوّٞ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقۡتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسَۢا بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِينَ

Falamma an arada an yabtisha biallathee huwa AAaduwwun lahuma qala ya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qatalta nafsan bialamsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaran fee alardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheena

فَلَمَّآfalammāThen when
أَنۡan[that]
أَرَادَarādahe wanted
أَنanto
يَبۡطِشَyabṭishastrike
بِٱلَّذِيbi-alladhīthe one who
هُوَhuwa[he] (was)
عَدُوّٞʿaduwwunan enemy
لَّهُمَاlahumāto both of them
قَالَqālahe said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓyāmūsāO Musa
أَتُرِيدُaturīduDo you intend
أَنanto
تَقۡتُلَنِيtaqtulanīkill me
كَمَاkamāas
قَتَلۡتَqataltayou killed
نَفۡسَۢاnafsana person
بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖbil-amsiyesterday
إِنinNot
تُرِيدُturīduyou want
إِلَّآillābut
أَنanthat
تَكُونَtakūnayou become
جَبَّارٗاjabbārana tyrant
فِيin
ٱلۡأَرۡضِl-arḍithe earth
وَمَاwamāand not
تُرِيدُturīduyou want
أَنanthat
تَكُونَtakūnayou be
مِنَminaof
ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِينَl-muṣ'liḥīnathe reformers
TRANSLATION

And when he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, "O Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not want to be of the amenders

وَجَآءَ رَجُلٞ مِّنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱلۡمَلَأَ يَأۡتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقۡتُلُوكَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ إِنِّي لَكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَ

Wajaa rajulun min aqsa almadeenati yasAAa qala ya moosa inna almalaa yatamiroona bika liyaqtulooka faokhruj innee laka mina alnnasiheena

وَجَآءَwajāaAnd came
رَجُلٞrajuluna man
مِّنۡminfrom
أَقۡصَاaqṣā(the) farthest end
ٱلۡمَدِينَةِl-madīnati(of) the city
يَسۡعَىٰyasʿārunning
قَالَqālaHe said
يَٰمُوسَىٰٓyāmūsāO Musa
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلۡمَلَأَl-mala-athe chiefs
يَأۡتَمِرُونَyatamirūnaare taking counsel
بِكَbikaabout you
لِيَقۡتُلُوكَliyaqtulūkato kill you
فَٱخۡرُجۡfa-ukh'rujso leave
إِنِّيinnīindeed, I am
لَكَlakato you
مِنَminaof
ٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَl-nāṣiḥīnathe sincere advisors
TRANSLATION

And a man came from the farthest end of the city, running. He said, "O Moses, indeed the eminent ones are conferring over you [intending] to kill you, so leave [the city]; indeed, I am to you of the sincere advisors
