97 : 1
إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
Inna anzalnahu fee laylati alqadri
إِنَّآinnāIndeed, We
أَنزَلۡنَٰهُanzalnāhurevealed it
فِيfīin
لَيۡلَةِlaylati(the) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِl-qadri(of) Power
TRANSLATION
Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree

97 : 2
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ
Wama adraka ma laylatu alqadri
وَمَآwamāAnd what
أَدۡرَىٰكَadrākacan make you know
مَاmāwhat
لَيۡلَةُlaylatu(the) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِl-qadri(of) Power (is)
TRANSLATION
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree

97 : 3
لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٖ
Laylatu alqadri khayrun min alfi shahrin
لَيۡلَةُlaylatu(The) Night
ٱلۡقَدۡرِl-qadri(of) Power
خَيۡرٞkhayrun(is) better
مِّنۡminthan
أَلۡفِalfia thousand
شَهۡرٖshahrinmonth(s)
TRANSLATION
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months

97 : 4
تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرٖ
Tanazzalu almalaikatu waalrroohu feeha biithni rabbihim min kulli amrin
تَنَزَّلُtanazzaluDescend
ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angels
وَٱلرُّوحُwal-rūḥuand the Spirit
فِيهَاfīhātherein
بِإِذۡنِbi-idh'niby (the) permission
رَبِّهِمrabbihim(of) their Lord
مِّنminfor
كُلِّkullievery
أَمۡرٖamrinaffair
TRANSLATION
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter

97 : 5
سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ
Salamun hiya hatta matlaAAi alfajri
سَلَٰمٌsalāmunPeace
هِيَhiyait (is)
حَتَّىٰḥattāuntil
مَطۡلَعِmaṭlaʿi(the) emergence
ٱلۡفَجۡرِl-fajri(of) the dawn
TRANSLATION
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn
